Change/Fix Log (Page 1/2)
Update 02/26/2005
DLSuperCTW
V2.4b
- Program Fix - A blank or null line causes a synchronization
problem (program fault) determining a delta, change, or long
listing. An ovsum listing was unaffected. (User Morris Thompson)
- Program Fix - Program Fix - A major rewrite for recursive
handling where the files need multiple passes (PASS-COUNT > 1)
to process the compare. The re-synchronzation may require a
restart within a line of words. (User Morris Thompson)
- Program Fix - Some overall summary statistics were corrected
for one odd case.
Update 02/25/2005
DLSuperC
V7.3a
- Program Fix - The Process Preference Nlbx with the
Don't Processing Option Dccp may sometimes cause a listing
synchronization problem where the output may pair incorrect
inserts/delete lines. Some displayed lines may look odd and
could cause a program interuption. Using the Fscl option or no
listing override should produce the correct listing
results. (User = Richard Carver)
- Program Fix - The batch process did not recognize
the Dudc or Dud2 user defined process preference (Dpop=Dudc
or Dpop=Dud2). The example batch ini file (info\BSupC32.ini)
in the distributed zip file has been expanded to describe the
two Dpop statements. (User Roy Garringer)
Update 12/11/2004
DLSuperC
V7.3
- Program Fix Batch with Fscl option and Chng output resulted in program fault when the
input source files were GT 8000 line. Iteration within the files
did not handle the passed re-iteration addresses correctly. The
same files processed without problems when operating in interactive
mode.
Update 09/14/2004
DLSuperCTW
V2.4a
- Program Fix - A program fault resulted from the comparison
of two files of different sizes that straddled the maximum
characters per pass program limit. The shorter first file fit within the first
processing pass while the second required algorithmically recovery
into a second pass to complete the comparison. The second pass
recovery was defective in the logic used. However, a user reversing
the file input name order would not have experienced any program fault.
(User Morris Thompson)
- User Note Added - A processing note was added to the Asep
preference option entry line whereby non-ASCII character separators can be
used by using the entry keystroke convention of "Alt+0xxx".
Update 01/07/2004
DLSuperC
V 7.2 and
DLSuperCX
V 1.8 and
DLSuperCTW
V 2.4
DLSuperCBF
V 3.2
DLSuperCBT
V 2.2
- Trial Program Changes - These programs have all been modified for changes to the downloaded Trial versions.
Update 01/07/2004
DLSuperC
V 7.1e and
DLSuperCX
V 1.7g and
DLSuperCTW
V 2.3i
- Program Fix - A minor bug with DP Option "Dcpp" incorrectly interpreted a
"\" character when it appeared as the last character on a line within a
multi-line comment. The special character is normally used as the first in
a special two character ASCII sequence. The previous version numbers were left unchanged.
The date on the main panel was adjusted to 01/07/2004 (User Claude Cavanaugh).
Update 12/01/2003
DLSuperC
V7.1e
Update 09/23/2003
DLSuperCBF
V3.1b
- Program Fix - The report for a comparison involving a
top level directory (ex. A:\ or D:\) may have had the first few
characters of the path identifiers missing. Only top level subdirectories
path names were affected. This problem is not encountered when using the
Lsbs option that produces the old style report (User: John Terdik).
- Program Fix - Expanded the explanation in the summary for
inserted and deleted terms. Both terms are relative to the New file.
Update 09/03/2003
DLSuperC
V 7.1e and
DLSuperCX
V 1.7g
- DLSuperC
- Expanded Capability - The "Nlbx" 2000+ list box has
been supplemented
with a new option ("Fnch") that allows the user to create a report that
has the changed lines folded to a value that produces a more easily
printable page (User: Melissa Taylor).
- Program Fix - A boundry condition of the "Clnc" Option with "Chng"
(but not "Delta") listing type having an old file which had
neither deletes nor dupes while the new file had both; caused the DLSuperC program
to lock up the system in an endless loop. It only occurred when attempting
to produce a user specified sectioned style report (User: Mike Pringle).
- Program Fix - A statistic overcount of the Dp old file lines not
processed should have ben split between the Dp Old and Dp new file lines for file
pairs with no changes.
- Program Fix - Certain illogical "Ccol" conditions in combination
with Dcpp or Ddl2 produced an endless loop. In effect, the inspection
parsed incorrect comment delimiter conditions not considered proper
program comment statements.
- DLSuperCX
- Program Fix - The "Dcpp" Dp Option incorrectly evaluated certain exact
matching files by flagging a number of lines as reformated. The exact
problem was first discovered in DLSuperC V7.1c and was fixed in the
01/31/2003 DLSuperC v7.1d update. The V1.7g version level number for DLSuperCX
has been retained for this minor defect change.
Update 07/3/2003
DLSuperCBT
V2.1e
- Program Fix - The "DR" report lines displayed an incorrect LEFTMOST
OLD-OFFSET address for lines with data in their leftmost
line postion.
"DR" lines that have data displayed in a position not in the leftmost
byte boundry, are displayed with a correct leftmost offset address.
This problem has existed in all earlier versions of DLSuperCBT(User: Jesse van den Kieboom).
- Program Fix - The comparison of two files that required multiple
passes (see summary section) somtimes generated incorrect Old File Offset tracking
addresses starting with the data listed for the second and up iterative
sections .
Update 06/24/2003
DLSuperCTW
V2.3i
- Program Fix - The Wcln option has been revised to repair
a problem affecting files that contained, as data, invalid
X"FF" characters. The previous version sometimes hung the system when the
horizontal scroll bar was used to view long report lines (User: Matthew Frame).
Update 01/31/2003
DLSuperC
V 7.1d and
DLSuperCTW
V 2.3h,
- DLSuperC and
DLSuperCTW
- Expanded Capability - A new Dp keyword, "Dsql", has been added as a
filter for excluding "Sql" comments lines and end of line comments from
the compared set of text.
- DLSuperC Only -
- Expanded Capability - An "Xlnc" perference option used in
conjuction with the "Ccol" option allows the user to view line changes
in columns excluded from the compared range. A check box on the Ccol
panel area is used to indicate the "Xlnc" option.
The displayed lines are flagged as "EN-" and "EO-" to indicate that the two file
lines are equal within the compare range but differ in the excluded columns.
Previously, only the new file line was listed. The Ccol situation is
a special case whereby lines can be considered as both equal and unequal.
Hence, both the new and old file line might be useful for viewing.
However, the EN-/EO- flagging does not extend to lines that are processed as
"Dp - don't process" full comment lines. Yet, part comment line with the Ccol option
might be displayed as EN-/EO- lines if they passed the test as both "equal and unequal"
over the entire line.(User: DeWayne Technologies, Inc)
- Program Fix - Major maintenance was performed in the Compare Columns
logic area. Some reports did not display the correct line contents
under various combination of "Ccol" ranges, "Xdpl", Dp comments, and
other intersecting options.
Update 01/12/2003
DLSuperC
V7.1c, and
DLSuperCX
V1.7g
- Program Fix - A single matched line between two long matching spans of
lines may have been overlooked and is marked as an inserted/deleted
pair. The discrepancy has existed since the first version of the product.
- Program Fix - The comparison report omitted the part comment text
instead of listing the comment portion on "I -" and "D -" report lines.
Update 01/09/2003
DLSuperCTW
V2.3g
- Program Fix - Compare Columns were not being processed correctly
which resulted in color coding of changed data incorrectly being
displayed. Also comment lines were not properly displayed when
any Dp comment option was selected.
- Program Fix - A problem recognizing Ddl2 (DP lines) with a combination
of a single quote following a "(" character was resolved.
- Program Fix - Files that were larger than 8000 lines had problems
when synchonizing with successive interation passes.
- Program Revision - The program flagging for part comment lines
was revised. Part comment lines are now appended to the "MD" and
"MI" color coded lines.
- Program Revision - Part comment lines have been added to the excluded
lines when the "Xblk" option is specified.
Update 12/04/2002
DLSuperC
V 7.1b,
DLSuperCX
V 1.7f,
DLSuperCBT
V2.1d and
DLSuperCTW
V 2.3f
- - Program Fix - The generated Rtf file was missing a "}"
terminating character that confused the MS Word program. MS Word
issued a misleading diagnostic and was unable to recognize the
generated Rtf report. MS Notepad had always been able to interpret
the generated file correctly and display the colored rtf file even
with the missing "}" character.(User: Mike Pringle)
Update 11/18/2002
DLSuperCTW
V2.3e
- - Expanded Capability - Added Fdoc (a new preference option) that
can be used to directly filter an *.doc file for the MS text portion
of the encoded file. Two *.doc files can then be directly compared
for the text differences without requiring the user to first convert
(using the MS Word program) the *.doc files into *.txt files.
Added MS font and format control information is not extracted from
the filtered data and does not appear as part of the output report.
- Program Fix - The Icas and Dp Opts preference option had
certain instances whereby the compared summary results were correct but the
output report did not always correctly display the input source line.
- Program Fix - Null input line problems were corrected that
previously had caused improper allignment and flagging of changed words.
Update 11/01/2002
DLSuperC
V7.1a
- Program Fix - The multi-part compare column (Ccol) Preference
Option fix in V6.1a did not completely fix the Ccol process. Certain
exceptional cases whereby some short lines within the file
could still cause an unrecoverable program fault requiring a
control-alt-delete termination of the DLSuperC executing program.
The process has been revised and, hopefully, fully fixed. (User: Jim Ciecko)
Update 10/30/2002
DLSuperCBF
V3.1b
- Regression Fix - The subdirectory names have been
missing from the report when using the
Compare/List Type - "2. Compare All Like-Name Files - All Sub Levels",
the default non-Lsbs Preference Option, and with the Lchv Perference
Option not selected. The regression existed in both V3.1 and V3.1a versions.
Update 10/29/2002
dlsupC32i.zip
V 7.1,
dlsupcx.zip
V 1.7e,
dlsupCBT.zip
V2.1c,
dlsupcbfi.zip
V3.1a and
dlsupCTW.zip
V 2.3d
- Full Install Packages Modification Only - The full install procedure has been modified
so that even if a user fails to uninstall the previous installed
version, all existing installed components will be replaced except
the last existing installed ini file. This corrects a problem whereby
previous full installs were not replacing the previously install
exe program with the updated exe module. (User: Morris Thompson)
- Update 10/27/2002
DLSuperCBT
V 2.1c,
DLSuperCTW
V2.3d and
DLSuperCX
V1.7e
- DLSuperCBT change only -
- Expanded Capability - Updated the report "SaveAs" capability to allow both
Html and Rtf output file types.
- Win XP Compatiblity Change - The Win XP Rtf saved file displayed incorrect
colored output lines. The newly revised Rtf output, now, accurately reflects the displayed
report colors. (User: Malte Forkel)
- DLSuperCTW change only -
- Program Fix - Incorrect word resynchronization results
when one word file is less than 8000 lines while the other is larger. The
results may show lines GT 8000 incorrectly as inserted words or a program
fault depending on the smaller file compared as the new file. (User: Morris Thompson)
- DLSuperCTW,
DLSuperCX and
DLSuperCBT changes -
- Win XP Compatiblity Change - Added a Win XP and Win 98 compatible wheel mouse
control capability that works in both systems. The wheel control in the
previous Win XP environment did not scroll the panel lines.
- Program Modification - Added a warning on a SaveAs as
an Rtf file that only MS Wordpad not MS Word can be used to display
the saved colored encoded Rtf file.
.
- Update 10/15/2002
DLSuperCBF V3.1a
- Regression fix - Last correct version was V3.0. A changed
file was sometimes not listed in the "Combined
Directory and File Report" section for the default option under a subdirectory
that had one or more changed files. The correct results appear in the "Sbsl"
report. (User: Malte Forkel).
- Program fix - A directory name was sometimes not preserved in
the main panel old directory drop-down name list.
- Program fix - The top most directory did not have a change indicator if
the directory had changes only in the top level where only delete files were detected.
- Update 09/16/2002
DLSuperC V 7.1 and DLSuperCBF V3.1
- DLSuperC change -
- Regression Fix - The batch output for matched lines with
the Fscl option selected were marked with a "M -" prefix. The
incorrect flagging occurred after the V5.7 thru the V7.0 in the
download file. (User: Alexander Cortes at United Space Alliance)
- Bug Fix - The ending batch output for the Chng Listing
may incorrectly show matched lines that are duplicates of the first
in the sequence of matched lines. The last matched lines (up to 6)
are not shown. (User: Alexander Cortes at United Space Alliance)
- DLSuperCBF change -
- Documentation Change - Changed the Veqf Preference Option
documentation to "Validate (Byte-for-byte) equal size/time-stamp
files. (Validate overhead prudent for removable media)".
The default case is, and still remains, not to validate when the
"size and time-stamps" are identical due to memory copying being
extremely reliable since considerable overhead is encountered when
the number of files processed is large. Even Dos requires a
"validate" to override re-checking copied files. However, copying to
removable type devices (ie., CDs) are not as error free as
memory-to-memory copying. The user for CD copying might want to
consider checking the Veqf option. The previous Veqf
explanation had not hinted at the possibility of CD copying
reliablity. No version change is made for this documentation change.
- Update 09/12/2002
DLSuperCX V1.7d
- Program fix - An invalid file name message was displayed
immediately upon clicking the Directory Selection button to enter the
Directory selection panel when both the new and old entries were
invalid. The entry to the panel should have been allowed so the user
could change the selection to a valid directory path.
- Update 09/08/2002
DLSuperC V7.0
- Expanded capability - The Clnc option has been extended
with a new check box on the Clnc option selection line to provide a
"Single Panel Sectioned Report". Unlike the default Clnc dual panel
report, all the matches, changes, and duplicate line sections are
listed below category section header separators. A subsequent "SaveAs"
to a text file creates a file that omits the Ref# and ID columns.
This saved file can be easily edited by deleting whole lines. For
example, duplicate source lines can be removed, deleted lines from the
old file can be retained and, of course, DLSuperC
titles/summaries/section separators could be completely edited out.
The edited file can then be directly used as an alternate source file.
An update to the distributed sample BSupC32.ini file has been made to
reflect the corresponding keyword to invoke the batch operation for
this new capability.
- Program fix - A comparson of two files that contain
duplicate lines but had no other changes did not detect and flag the
duplicate lines. The error was discovered when the user specified
identical new and old file names. This is a novel but appropriate
method that can be used to detect duplicate file lines. (User: Darrell
Ludlow).
- Update 08/08/2002
DLSuperC V6.1d and DLSuperCX V1.7c
- Program fix - A comparison of empty files causes a summary
listing with an error notification. One summary item for lines
compared may be incorrect.(User: Ron Karnes - UnumProvident Corp.).
- Update 07/11/2002
DLSuperC V6.1c and DLSuperCX V1.7b
- Program fix - The Print output hard copy produced from the
Side-by-side Preference Option report displayed a report that
generated successive single lines of output after the first full page
(User: Harry Hereshko).
- Program fix - The Single Insert/Delete/Match Report Panel
Find Up operation incorrectly interprets the find string when
the text case contains upper case characters. The Find Down
operation correctly detects all cases of the input string regardless
of the user specified string casing and the case of the characters
contained in report (User: Jim Ciecko).
- Update 06/14/2002
DLSuperC V 6.1b , DLSuperCX V1.7a and DLSuperCTW V2.3c
- DLSuperC and DLSuperCX changes
-
- Program fix - A report omitted the listing of certain
contiguous deleted lines within a contiguous succession of new file
reformatted lines. The deleted lines would appear in the report as
they should when the "Rovr" (Reclassify reformatted lines as
matches) option was specified.
The condition only occured when the first line in the block of
reformatted lines had deleted lines from the old file followed by a
number of successive consecutive reformatted lines. If the deleted
lines appeared after more than one reformatted lines in the
sequence, the deleted lines would be displayed properly.
Although the deleted lines were not displayed in the report, they
were included in the overall statistics totals. In an incorrect
"Long" report, the old line reference numbers for the reformatted
lines would display a discontinuity in the normal consecutive
increment reference numbering by the block of lines reformatted
(User: Alex Cortes).
- Distribution Fix - The DLSupC.hlp file was found missing
from the DLSupCX.zip full install package. (User: Nancy Van
Schooenderwoert).
- DLSuperCTW changes -
- Expanded capability - The Wcln options report panel
window title bar for designated character positions has been
expanded accomodate up to 900 character positions based on the
columns determined from the total lines for the comparison (User:
Dezi.Vanderpool).
- Expanded capability - The Wcln options report ID line has
also been expanded to accomodate up to 900 character positions. The
actual positions are based on the columns determined from the from
the number of lines encountered for the first pass of up to 8000
lines.
- Distribution Enhancement - An "Expanded 400" and an
"Expanded 900" character position header line has been added to the
"Info" subdirectory of the zip packages. Users may wish to use these
preconfigured insert lines in conjunction with editors to scan long
lines tracking change activity character columns.
- Update 05/22/2002
DLSuperCRV V1.4
- Distribution Fix - Included the missing RvHelp.rtf file
referenced by the program's panel tab.
- Documentation Change - Changed the program's Icon's and
displayed BMP images.
- Made some slight program documentation changes (User: Demo
Rapoport)
- Update 05/03/2002
DLSuperCBT V2.1b
- Program Fix - The Delta Report generated a spurious
duplicate output line above certain reported deleted hex lines.
- Update 04/27/2002
DLSuperCTW V 2.3b and DLSuperCBT V2.1a
- DLSuperCTW Changes -
- Program Fix - Regression in V2.3 and V2.3a for Wcln
option only where some leading characters in a MI/MD displayed line
in the *.rtf and *.html saved report were not fully generated. These
lines may have been displayed as MI or MD lines with only the
rightmost matching strings being displayed. The cases were
restricted to single string changes at the beginning of a changed
line (User Jan Theodore Galkowski).
- Program Fix - Regression in V2.3 and V2.3a for Wcln
option only where the *.rtf saved file did not properly filter the
reserved characters ("{", "}", and "\") while generating the saved
rtf file. This may have caused the report when displayed by MS Word
or WordPad not to be fully displayed.
- DLSuperCBT changes --
- Program Fix - An extra byte at the end of two equal files
caused the delta and change listing output to program fault. The
"Long" listing output generated the correct output (User Vernon
Riley).
- Update 03/30/2002
DLSuperC V 6.1a and DLSuperCTW V2.3a
- DLSuperC
Changes -
- Program Fix - Detected a problem with the Ccol preference
option in combination with the compared lines GT. 2048 in length.
Not aware that it would have affected any but this rare case.
- Added a progress bar for multi-pass, GT. 8000 line, compares.
- Minor rework of the "SaveAs" file selection process and panels.
- Minor maintenance revisions and work.
- DLSuperCTW changes --
- The Icas processing for word compare may have been in error. The
verification pass may have been so slow as to seem as looping.
Rewrote the verification using a new algorithm. It seemed to work
better for the GT. 2048 character length test case.
- Rewrote the "SaveAs" support for both html, rtf, and printer for
the default panel. Changed the panel buttons to be compatible with
the Wcln report panel.
- Noted that large compare files execute quite a lot longer using
the DLSuperCTW text compare program versus DLSuperC line compare.
Compares of lines GT. 8000 takes patience.
- Added an "Expanded Header" file (400 columns) in the shipped
Info directory for users that have lines greater than 128 columns.
It might be useful for determining change offsets.
- Minor maintenance revisions and work.
- Update 03/23/2002
DLSuperCX V1.7
- Revised the two report "SaveAs" process similar to DLSuperC in update V6.1 for the
extra colored reports and consistancy across Win 98 to Win XP . Also
revised the report panels and activated the wheel mouse for XP.
- Update 03/22/2002
DLSuperC V6.1
- Completely revised the "SaveAs" process for Html and Rtf files.
Generating a specialized process that is both faster and works in both
Win 98 and Win XP systems. The previous Rtf reports displayed line
coloring differences between the Win 98 and Win XP systems. Also, the
processing time for large file saves appeared quite lengthy.
- Expanded the "SaveAs" file extension types so both Html and Rtf
colored saves allowed from all three report panels.
- Modified the wheel scroll process so the Win XP mouse now works
and reflects the increment set by the control panel wheel mouse
setting.
- Revised setting the "SaveAs" file name extension when using the
file name panel filter. An override notification will be made to the
user to accept any change made to the file name used.
- The print buttons on the report panels have been reduced to one. A
user can use this button to request either a colored or black printout
depending on the configuration of the printer selected. A note has
been added to each panel suggesting that the user first use the SaveAs
button to generate a file and then use Notepad, Internet Explorer or
Netscape as a spool print agent.
- Made several maintenance and panel adjustments.
- Update 02/08/2002
DLSuperCBF V3.1
- Fixed the color output on a re-invocation of DLSuperCBF for the
default report non-Lsbs option in Win XP. The initially produced
report displayed correct colored lines but succeeding reports
generated red lines where black lines were expected. It appears that
the RichText Edit process differs between Win 98 and Win XP. The fix
for Win XP and, possibly Win 2000, produces correct results for Win SE
and Win Me.(User JTerdik).
- Corrected the Lchv output for the "default" double-window report
panel. Lchv was listing directories that had no change. That was
inconsistent with the correct method used in the Side-by-Side report
that only listed directories if they had changed files. The corrected
Lchv reports should be much shorter and contain less extraneous
non-changed entries (User JTerdik).
- Expanded the directory names for Lchv entries for the default
report. Since some parent subdirectories may be missing from the
hierarchy, the expanded name was needed to correctly identify
directories with changed files with some of the non-changed
directories omitted.
- Modified the directory dropdown list to keep the most recent entry
at the top of the list.
- Added a color report SaveAs *.html capability for the default
compare, a non-Lsbs option, report. The *.rtf is still maintained.
- Premature click of Halt button causes program restart or exit to
fail.
- Update 2/2/2002
DLSuperCTW V2.3
- Changed the preference option keyword Ghtm to Wcln - Word changes
listed within changed line. This new implementation should produce
identical results as the previous Html View but uses a standard list
box to display the report text input. The report is not longer a
reflection of an HTML text stream. The list box lines are actual text
data from the user input files. The Orpheus Virtual List Box Component
has been extended for this usage.
- There is no longer a need to use a substitute HTML Viewer (e.g.,
MS Outlook) to see the produced report. The Viewer Preference Option
has been removed and is ignored.
- The report loading has been speeded up by order of magnitude for
large report sizes. The previously used Html Viewer Component would
sometimes take over 5+ minutes to load large file. The report is now
displayed almost instantaneously. The justification for replacing the
Html Viewer component was mostly due to the lack of speed in
displaying the generated report.
- Certain non-displayable HTML sequences (e.g. umla character) were
not hidden within the older HTML input stream. This is no longer a
problem with the current text implementation input stream directed
toward a List Box Viewer. However, these special characters are
properly inserted into the HTML SaveAs file.
- An RTF output SaveAs file has been added to the formats supported.
There are limits to file size that can be handled by MS Word and
Wordpad. These Windows services only display the first portion of
large RTF files. Nevertheless, a complete RTF file is created by the
DLSuperCTW internal
conversion routine.
- The normal HTML SaveAs file process has been completely rewritten.
This newer process handles the file generation faster by an order of
magnitude.
- SaveAs file name handling has been adjusted to use the file
extension filter as a substituted extension. This conforms with MS
Words file name handling.
- A progress bar has been added that will become more visible for
longer running comparisons.
- The DLSupCTW.ini file update will not cause a program fault if the
Ini file is marked as read-only. This would be caused due to the ini
file being located on a CD or within a shareable protected directory.
- Added a Load Alternate User Ini file button.
- Update 12/27/2001
DLSuperCTW V 2.2a and DLSuperC V6.0a
- For GT 8000 lines comparisons fixed DLSuperCTW Ghtm preference and DLSuperC Nlbx preference options. The
iterative process incorrectly identified the problem as a "Results
exceeded Stringlist Maximum resources". The problem was actually a
program fault.(User Dane Jordan)
- Fixed several potential "Exceeded" incorrect error halting error
messages.
- Made corrections to the "Find/Find Again" button logic that was
not correctly finding the target string for DLSuperCTW.
- Update 12/17/2001
DLSuperCTW V2.2,
- Converted the Beta release to V2.2 with fixes and additions.
- Fixed a MI-/MD Ghtml condition resulting from specifying Asep
option strings. A program fault was reported as the comparison was
prematurely terminated with only a partial report displayed. Also an
endless loop was discovered thru testing and fixed.
- Implemented "Next Chg Span", "Find", and "Find Again" buttons for
Ghtm processing option.
- Implemented a Find PopUp panel that features a string combo box,
direction for the find, report position, and matchword/matchcase
options.
- Offered an additional "Mono Black SaveAs" option for subsequent
simplified browsing in a text editor.
- Added a "Display Size" combo box for independently changing the
display size of the HTML text after initial display of report.
- Update 11/22/2001
DLSuperC V6.0,
- Added major new Preference Option - Nlbx (New Single Panel
ListBox). Full input lines up to 2048 (previous limit was 128)
characters are displayed during interactive operations. Matched, and
changed lines are presented in a new format with line numbers
displayed to the left on the line. Reference line numbers can be
omitted by using the expanded definition of the Fscl option.(User
Jerry Bastian)
- Colored lines from the Nlbx option and non-Sbsl report can be
saved with an HTML format for later viewing. HTML files save faster
than the previously colored RTF supported format. The MS Internet
Explorer, Netscape, and MS Word can be used to review the saved HTML
file.
- New Preference Option - Onom (Omit Delta List information line)
allows the information line to be replaced by a blank line. This
allows for a more unclottered Delta report when the information lines
are of little interest.
- Fixed the drop-down file name lists on primary and file select
panels that prevents these lists from becoming sorted between
re-invocations of DLSuperC.
- Discovered and fixed a problem that resulted in the manual editing
of a file name causing a blank file name to be the end result. (User:
Jim Ciecko)
- A new 3 line testcase file has been included as part of the
distribution package in the TestCase subdirectory. This test case can
be used to examine the newer lengths of the lines displayed in the
report when using the Nlbx option versus the previous report displays
that had 80 and 128 character line limits.
- Update 11/22/2001
DLSuperCTW Beta 2.1a,
- Beta interim release with updates to help focus on the Ghtm option
report where successive paired changed lines (i.e., MI- and MD-)
appear. The matched words on each line are highlighted as bold in the
output lines. The MD- line will, also, have blank columns positioned
below the New and Old line number references. This should help users
to more rapidly recognize which words on the two lines are duplicate
matched words. (User: Jerry Bastian)
- Ghtm option viewer did not properly screen out not-displayable
binary characters. As a result, embedded binary zeros and tabs did not
get replaced with the Subc character. This led to unexpected displayed
lines. In particular, embedded zeros are interpreted but never
displayed as Eol delimiters (i.e., trucated lines of output). (User:
Emma Middlebrook)
- Discovered and fixed a problem that resulted in the manual editing
of a file name causing a blank file name to be the end result. (User:
Jim Ciecko)
- Update 11/12/2001
DLSuperCTW V2.1,
- Continued update to DLSuperCTW for the Ghtm preference option. Corrected
several inaccuracies in the summary statistics section.
- Corrected some problems with Compare Columns for both default and
Ghtm option.
- Corrected some problems with DP Lines for both default and Ghtm
option.
- Added alternate invocation for external HTML viewer
- Update 11/05/2001
DLSuperCTW V2.0,
- Major update to DLSuperCTW for the Ghtm preference option. Ghtm detects
word changes and generates an HTML report that shows changed lines
with both matched and unmatched on the same listed line. Changed words
are color coded different than matched words. The report is shown by a
new HTML viewer component. The generated colored report can be saved
as an HTML file and later reshown by either the Internet Explorer or
Netscape browser. The HTML report file can, alternately, be sent
directly as HTML text to a colored or plain text printer. Displayed
lines can be up to 2000+ characters long. (User Fernando Sánchez)
- Corrected the New and Old Directory file name save list for the
main and selection panels. The names are now saved as a fifo entry
list of file names..
- Update 08/01/2001
DLSuperCBF V3.0d,
- Compare/List Type 2 - Multiple subdirectory compare using Veqf,
incorrectly treated GT 8 MB files as GT 2 GB. This resulted in files
with equal dates and length being marked as unequal. GT 2 GB files can
not be compared with the Veqf processing option as it exceeds the I/O
access methods for file size handling. The maximum constant was
corrected to the 2 GB limit (User Report - Raffael Tucci).
- Update 07/29/2001
DLSuperCTW V1.3c,
- Fixed lockup for Files with GT 8000 words (User Report - Mark
Hutchinson).
- Main panel Old File name edit was incorrectly changing New File
Name.
- Added new Summary Statistics for word separator counts per file.
- Enabled the Halt Button at two additional points during compare
match processing. Some processes react sooner than others to the halt
condition.
- Put out additional status messages for user feedback at seemingly
long comparison processing stages.
- Update 06/30/2001
DLSuperC V5.7b, DLSuperCX V1.6b, DLSuperCBF V3.0c, DLSuperCTW V1.3b, DLSuperCBT V2.1
- Revised the File/Dir Selection Panel action. Selection drag
originating from the File/Dir list box can be directed to either the
File/Dir Name Buttons or the File/Dir Name Combo Boxes. Any change to
the Combo boxes (e.g. selecting a previous name in the drop down list)
causes the Main File/Dir Names to be changed.
- A warning will be issued if the Main File/Dir New/Old Names have
not changed after a return from the select panel. The message can be
turned off via a newly added check box.
- Major revamp of the drop-down file/dir lists. The list is no
longer alphabetically sorted. A new named entry is now placed as the
first entry in the drop-down list. This makes the list more reusable
with the most recent addition always at the top.
- DLSuperC - Added a new and more
versatile Don't Process Option, Dud2 - Define User Comments allowing
two different beginning line and embedded comment string tags (ala
Visual FoxPro).
- DLSuperCBT - Upgraded the File
Selection Panel to the same level as the other DLSuperC products. The
new panel style features drag and drop of the file names from the file
listbox list and 2 drop down lists for each input file name.
- Update 06/22/2001
DLSuperCTW V1.3a
- Introduced a better reflection of the composed match, insert, and
delete lines. Whenever possible, the composed line should line up with
the uncomposed whole lines.
- Update 06/20/2001
DLSuperCTW V1.3
- A new process option, Chgb - Generate compact New File Change Bar
Report. This report is a listing of the New File that only flags those
lines that have changed. There are no inserts or delete line prefixes.
This allows the user to quickly scan the new file to proof the latest
text file produced.
- Another new process option, Lnfm - Limit New File matches to a
single line. This negates matching Old File words that move across
line boundries. Each New and Old file lines are considered as whole
lines as in the line compare program - DLSuperC. DLSuperCTW is very
much like a light version of DLSuperC since word compare has more
tokens to process, takes longer, and could be limiting in the size of
the two files it can process. The program output lists word insert and
delete tokens on separate lines below their input lines.
- Fixed several looping conditions related to processing null (CR/LF
only) input lines.
- Update 06/10/2001
DLSuperC V5.7a and DLSuperCX V1.6a
- Both programs have been updated to recognize files GT 2 GB.
- DLSuperC was not restoring the
last panel placement and size for the horizontal side-by-side results
panel (User: Fernando Sanchez).
- DLSuperC was fixed again to
allow the user to specify the scroll bar increment.
- DLSuperCX had some change
made to the progress bar which is time shared between the directory
and file completion status.
- Update 06/10/2001
DLSuperCBF V3.0b
- There has been some code added to detect files GT 2GB. When using
the processing option "Veqf" and the Date-Time-Stamp-Length are
identical, the two files are accepted as equivalent. Otherwise, the
user is notified of the occurrence of this large file - advising the
user to use DLSuperCBT to process this file up to the
2 GB limit. The file can not be verified using the I/O processing
routines which are limited to the 2 GB file size boundry - a
Win98/Delphi/Fat32 limit. (User:T.Cook).
- The progress bar has been revised so that large files (GT 4 MBs)
can be tracked thoughout their long comparison. These long processing
times are experienced when the option Veqf or with files having
different time stamps. However, large files of different length are
detected quickly without much processing time - even with Veqf.
- Large compared files no longer disable the "Halt" button from
being used due to the placement of additional enablement points.
- The mouse scrolling increment value was not working properly. A
fixed value of 3 was incorrectly applied by one of my support addins
which has been patched (User: JimCiecko).
- Update 06/05/2001
DLSuperCBT V2.0a
- The progress bar did not work properly for files compares GT 2**30
in size. The comparison now has an associated numeric value displayed
tracking the progress bar position.
- A special warning will now be given for files GT 2 GBs. The normal
I/O routines are limited to this boundry - a Win98/2000 and Delphi 5
limit. The user will be given the choice to either compare the area up
to the maximum size or stop the process.
- The File select panel "Directory Path" was not displaying any
path.
- The mouse scrolling increment value was not working properly. A
fixed value of 3 was incorrectly applied.
- Update 05/29/2001
DLSuperCBT V2.0
- There were problems with the resynchronizing code that has been
significantly revised. This problem was most apparent with large
compares and sometimes the Long listing type produced output that the
Delta and Chng did not display.
- The drag and drop capability on the main panel was not operative
and is now working.
- A progress bar has been created on the primary panel that
indicates the byte comparison process.
- The display results panel Next Change Up/Down Buttons have
been tuned to work more consistent with its labeled objectives.
- The previously undocumented batch interface has been deleted from
the DLSuperCBT documentation. The code is
suspect and unsupported at this time.
- Update 05/25/2001
- The DLSuperC Unleased discussion topic was included as a separate
panel. It discusses how the DLSuperC internals code is structured.
DLSuperCBF V3.0a
- Some TL= code references had not been removed from the report. The
report lising has been cleaned up.
Update 01/27/2001 - DLSuperCX V1.6
- A new file read process (ported from DLSupC32) has replaced an
older process. This should make the DLSupC32 and DLSuperCX results
identical for single file processing. It also corrects any
discrepancies with segmenting GT 2048 file lines and "significantly"
speeds up the processing of files with GT 8000 line using multi-pass
processing.
- The progress bar for single file compare has been activated based
on the bytes processed for the compare. This is most useful when the
processed file pair are large sometimes involving multi-passes.
Directory compares still activate the progress bar in accordance with
its progress through the number of files being processed.
- Significant maintenence has been applied for file and path
recognition for user error input. Several messages have been rewritten
for better user feedback.
- More program error detection intercepts have been inserted to
allow less severe restarts inhibiting the application from ambiguous
terminations.
Update 01/14/2001 - DLSuperCTW V1.2a
- Some whole insert lines were omitted and hopefully the File Select
panel has now been fully corrected in DLSuperCTW.
- Some whole delete lines (although correct) were repositioned so
they appeared more consistent with expected appearance in the output.
- Additional rework was done to recognize new lines as non-composed
where successive lines would have generated only MC- flagging
Update 01/05/2001 - DLSuperC V5.7, DLSuperCX V1.5, and
DLSuperCTW V1.2
- The File Select panel has been corrected in the above programs.
There was a problem with selecting an invalid root directory path. The
version numbers remain unchanged with only a primary panel displayed
release dates change.
Update 01/03/2001 - DLSuperCTW
V1.2
- The latest release has corrected a resynchronization lockup and an
incorrect end listing where one file has more lines than the other.
- The File Select panel has been upgraded to include two drop down
file name entry lines which was introduced in the other main line
DLSuperC programs.
Update 12/26/2000 DLSuperCBF V3.0
- The Preference Option "2. Compare All Like-Name Files - All Sub
Levels" has been significantly revised with a new default report
panel. This new panel consists of two separate windows showing the
results of the comparison in as a combined new file - old file
report The topmost window shows the results in a Window's Explorer
icon style representation that are expandable and collapsable with the
directories on the left and the files in a separate section. The
bottom window is a more traditional text style view of the comparison
results with the combined inserts, deletes, changes and matches listed
for the entire combined compare set. A new set of indicators ("+", "-"
and "*") are used to indicate the change status of the listed
directories and files. These indicators are a departure from the
normal DLSuperC flagging but seem to be more fitting as less
distracting. This second text window can be used as a supplemental
view, saved or printed. The older side-by-side text view of the
comparison results has been retained and is available as an optional
contrasting report view.
- The Aeqf (Accept equal files with length-time stamp) option has
been replace with an opposite keyword - Veqf (Verify equal files with
length-time stamp) preference option. The verification of files with
identical length and time stamps seems the normal case for all except
the most paranoid user. This also makes the program execute faster as
many novice users never bother to examine the preference settings and
set the previous Aeqf to its most appropriate state. Execution times
for large comparison sets of copied directory sets can be
significantely be reduced.
- Several changes have been made in the implementation and
interpretation of the specialized options for the Sub-level compares -
Lmcf, Lchv, and Gmsg. These options can be used to reduce the
possibity of extra and unneeded output that the normal output
generates that may clutter up viewing important comparison results.
Update 12/15/2000 DLSuperC V5.7 and DLSuperCX V1.5
- (For DLSuperCX only)
The main panel has a new and separate tab for selecting directory name
for those operations (compare types 2 ->4) that requires directory
names. This separates out the file and directory selection operations
that had formerly been done in one combined panel. This should simplfy
the selection process.
- A complete rework of the file and directory selection panels
features two new dropdown combo boxes that have replaced the single
name edit box. Now the user will be able to generate separate new and
old names and retain these names in a drop down stack (a stack of 10
name levels) for future reuse between sessions. This is in addition to
the main panel drop down edit name boxes.
- The dragdrop Window's capability has now been enabled for the new
combo selection boxes whereby the names can be moved to either the new
or old name slots.
- A minor file selection problem (in both programs) that had been
caused by the selection of the file names from an unsynchronized
directory-file listbox condition has been simplified and resolved. The
lists will, now, retain synchronization without the user having to
double click the directory entry list item.
- Several DLSuperC users of Windows 2000 experienced a system
hang using the "Save As" button. The problem apparently goes away when
the prompt panel is replaced by a notice on lower right part of the
results panel. This notice alerts the user the benefits of saving the
colored output into a Rtf file and then later printing this output
using MS Note Pad.
Update 11/19/2000 DLSuperCBF
V2.4d
- The Directory Select panel has the "Input Dir" edit boxes replaced
by a drop down save list. This could save users extra directory
manipulation when selecting previous comparison selected directories
(Sug.- Don Davis).
- The "TL=" column flagging in the reports will no longer be the
default when the "Aeqf" preference option is selected. An new "Leqf"
option can be used for user wanting this information. The previous
default flagging seemed to obscure the "no change" status when
scanning the resultant report.
Update 11/04/2000 DLSuperCBF
V2.4c, DLSuperCBT V1.3a, and DLSuperCTW V1.1
- All images have been converted to special DLSuperC type logo
images (Sug.- Zdnet.com).
- The report panels have cursor control upon entry. The up/down keys
respond upon inital entry within the report window (Sug.- Jim Ciecko).
- The version levels have not changed - only the version dates.
Update 10/31/2000 DLSuperCX
V1.4h
- Major rework of "Nxt Chg Span" up/down button action. This fixed
the erratic positioning - mostly with side-by-side panels with complex
change results. Added traversing of the bottom "Summary List" section
that displays the file pairs that were processed.
- Correctly saved the previous used directory entries in the drop
down selection list. These entries were mistakenly deleted because
they were invalid file name entries. Directory entries should also
have been saved.
- Added a new Preference Option "Abin" for processesing all files as
binary files. This is similar to DLSuperCBF's capability for a
directory pair compare. Only the overall file summary change results
are reported, not line changes, in this new operation.
- Included DLSuperCXNi distribution package for downloading from the
Web page. This is for users who do not want to download a full
"Install Express" zip package.
- Implemented a filter operation for the file display list to be
used with Compare type - 3 and 4 for file selection. This could make
the process easier to specify and reduce the number of files to be
processed and listed in the summary report.
- Corrected the "Save as type" list extension concatenation with the
file name. It is no longer ignored.
- Replaced DLSuperCX images with specially generated ones. One
listing service objected to the simularity between DLSuperCX's images
and a well known trade mark image.
Update 10/31/2000 DLSuperC
V5.6i
- Major rework of "Nxt Chg Span" up/down button action. This fixed
the erratic positioning - mostly with side-by-side panels with complex
change results.
- Corrected the "Save as type" list extension concatenation with the
file name. It is no longer ignored.
- Major corrections were made to the "Clnc" report generation code
for Delta and Chng listing options.
- Replaced DLSuperC images with specially generated ones. One
listing service objected to the simularity between DLSuperC's images
and a well known trade mark image.
Update 10/26/2000 DLSuperCBT
V1.3a
- Some components in the initial Full Install package were missing.
- Output file generation not consistent with checkbox setting.
- Scroll wheel fixed at value = 4. Regressed to previous release
handling of vendor component results list box in other DLSuperC
products.
- Compare Report not properly positioned on subsequent generation of
results.
- Generated additional zip download package "DLSuperCBTni.zip"
without "Express Install" capability.
- Thanks to user Jim Ciecko for reporting these problems.
Update 10/25/2000 DLSuperC
V5.6h
- Added a "SaveAs Text Append" button for both the "Single" and
"Side-By-Side" report panels.
- Corrected the "Batch" Pcmp preference option keyword specification
that caused a program failure.
- Made changes to the report panel "Next Chg" buttons logic to
correctly navigate both up/down directions while detecting top/bottom
conditions.
Update 10/22/2000 DLSuperCBF
V2.4c
- A invalid invisible component appeared on the file selection panel
causing the initalization process to incorrectly select the "A" drive.
This usually resulted in a mysterious banging sound while loading the
application.
Update 10/10/2000 DLSuperCBT
V1.3
- DLSuperCBT was, formally, packaged with another DLSuperC component
- DLSuperCRV (Revision/Delta/Undelta Library Utility). It is now
packaged separately as a free ($00.00) registration Shareware program.
No obligations attached to the registration.
- Minor changes to Report Panel and logic changes.
- Batch mode was withdrawn from DLSuperCBT capability.
Update 10/07/2000 DLSuperCX
V2.4g
Changed the function of next section "navigator" button from
browsing to the next individual summary section to the top of the next
file pair changed section.
Provided file pair number identifiers in each section heading so
user could more easily identify each new section reviewed. This number
correlates with the file pair position in the final summary table.
Update 09/27/2000 DLSuperCBF
V2.4b
- Same size files with changes not flagged as changed. This was a
code regression introduced after the V2.1 thru the V2.4a versions.
Update 08/25/2000 DLSuperCX
V2.4f
- Converted the DLSuperCX.zip package to a full install package.
That adds about 500 KB to the download but will automatically update
the user's "Start Program" list with the DLSuperCX.exe entry.
- Revised several panels, made various other maintenance changes,
and Fixed Ddl2 comment filtering problem and "SaveAs" RTF file as
described in DLSuperC fixes.
- Added a "navigator" button so the user can be positioned to the
next summary sections containing multi-individual summary sections.
- Added a progress bar to supplement user feedback to aid user in
interpreting timeliness of long multi-individual comparison
executions.
New Install 08/6/2000 DLSuperCTW V1.1
- Installed DLSuperCTW as a new compare program. Compare text and
Script (e.g. html) files at the word level. Similar to DLSuperC but
shows word differences in addition to line differences.
Update 07/6/2000 DLSuperCBF
V2.4a
- Revamped file list for the "1. Compare All Like-Name Files -
Current New/Old Directories" Compare/List Type option putting inserted
and deleted files at the end of the list. Unable to force the inserts
and deletes file name into the proper collating sequence with the
other paired files.
- Added a next change span button to enable a simpler view of
changed compared files buried within non-change sequence.
- Expanded the use of Progress bars to appear in more compares where
endpoint determination has been established.
- Other cosmetic changes were added to the menus.
Update 07/3/2000 DLSuperCBF
V2.4
- Program fault while trying to determine size of win386.swp - a
locked system file.
- Horizontal report view splitter bar did not work properly. Also
fixed split panel positioning and partitioning changes.
- Some titles in the report view have been clarified.
Update 06/21/2000 DLSuperCBF V2.3
- Progress bars added for long running " 2. Compare All Like-Name
Files - All Sub Levels" - Compare/List Type.
- Added a horizontal report view of results.
- Added a Legend for interpreting report results.
Update 05/09/2000 DLSupC32i V5.6f
Incomplete install list for DLSupC32i.zip package. The RunMan.avi,
DLSupC32.ini, and DLSupC32.hlp files were missing.
Update 04/29/2000 DLSuperC V5.6f and DLSuperCX
V1.4e
- Added new capability to load and restore an ini file other than
the one, which is in the same subdirectory as the exe file. This
should allow server installations to have unique initializing ini
files for each user since each user can override the ini loading after
the main panel is displayed.
- Added a check box so the user can select that the using ini file
not be updated upon exit. This new capability extends the usage for
server installations and the capability to eliminate the saving of
non-permanent invocation attempts.
- Ini file updates to protected subdirectories will no longer cause
the programs to cycle and refuse to exit. The previously experienced
exception now will be ignored. No update of the ini file will occur.
DLSuperCX has been modified so
that a return after selecting file names with other than " 1. New and
Old Files Specified " specified in the primary panel will no longer
cause an error message. The compare type selection option will be
changed to agree with the file selection mode.
Update 03/27/2000 DLSuperC, DLSuperCX,
and DLSuperCBF
Date change due to Readme.txt in all packages with new notice for
use of PayPal for credit card payment
Update 02/28/2000 V2.2
DLSuperCBF
Added new preference, Lchv - List changed directories and
files. This new option compacts the report so only inserted and
deleted directories and files are listed. The names of the items are
expanded to the full path name without the starting directories path
name used in the compare. The Lchv option also encompasses the
Sdfl (suppress Inserted/deleted file entries) and Smfs
(Suppressing matching file spans without annotation)
options.
Update 02/23/2000 V5.6e DLSuperC and V1.4d DLSuperCX
Icas preference option was incorrectly handling the last character
of a string. Any case difference in this position was incorrectly
compared.
DLSuperC Only - Clnc option
with Xdpl should not have included duplicate lines in the Delta and
Change output.
DLSuperC Only - Multiple user
specified Dpln strings did not correctly filter qualifying lines from
the input files.
